Web Content Filtering And Intrusion Detection System Company In Orem, Utah

ClearOS is an operating system for your Server, Network, and Gateway systems. It is designed for homes, small to medium businesses, and distributed environments. ClearOS is commonly known as the Next Generation Small Business Server, while including indispensable Gateway and Networking functionality. It delivers a powerful IT solution with an elegant user interface that is completely web-based. Simply put.. ClearOS is the new way of delivering IT.

Think of IT as a Smart Server

Remember when making a phone call, taking a picture, using a flashlight and listening to music required multiple devices? As technology evolved the Smart Phone was born and technology and usability has never been the same. ClearOS is a server operating system, but is also a modular operating system. With ClearOS, almost any server can become a smart-server simplifying the way IT gets delivered. ClearOS has Marketplace built-in, which delivers over 100 apps for both on and off premise. Simply install an app and your server scales with features never before offered on a Small Business Server.

Web Content Filtering System

The web content filtering app allows an administrator to enforce browsing policy. Policy can be enforced across all users or, group definitions can be created, allowing an admin to categorise users into groups - to be filtered uniquely based on the group policy/definition. The Content filter uses both blacklists and word association algorithms to determine suitable content based on category settings. Enabling the Content Filter app can be used to enforce company policy and/or meet regulatory compliance (eg. Children's Internet Protection Act or CIPA).

Network Visualizer

The Network Visualizer app captures and displays data flow traversing your network in real-time. Despite requiring some technical knowledge in networking principles, this app can be extremely useful in troubleshooting and diagnosing bandwidth issues and unauthorised applications or malware originating from your network.

Multi-WAN

The multi-WAN feature in ClearOS allows you to connect your system to multiple Internet connections. Multi-WAN offers many benefits to environments requiring a reliable connection to the Internet, including load balancing, packet segregation and automatic failover. The use of this app requires a minimum of two ISP connections to the Internet and three (3) Network Interface Cards (NIC) on this server. Please note, this app does not provide bandwidth aggregation (aka bonding).

IDS Intrusion Detection System

The intrusion detection system is the cornerstone of security for any size network. The app uses the highly regarded Snort engine to perform real-time traffic analysis and packet logging on Internet Protocol (IP) networks. The app can help identify, log and stop (using the IPS plugin) external attack vectors targeting the network (fingerprinting, buffer overflows, brute force authentication etc.). The app contains over 1000 known attack vector signatures with another 8000+ signatures available (with continuous updates) via the IDS update subscription from ClearCenter (app available in the Marketplace).

SMTP Plugin

Account manager plugin for the SMTP mail service. This app is required for the master node only in a master/slave environment. The app allows an administrator to define user access to email services hosted within the master/node infrastructure.

Windows Networking (Samba)

The Windows Networking app installs SAMBA - an open source suite of services that allows file and print interoperability between systems running under Microsoft Windows and this server.

Users

The users app allows an administrator to create, delete and modify users on the system. Marketplace apps that plugin directly to the user directory will automatically display options available to a user account. For example, if the PPTP Marketplace app is installed, an option for allowing VPN access to the server via the PPTP protocol will be displayed.
